Meet Lupo – the new it-gadget for Bluetooth enthusiasts.
We love finding new gadgets here at MadeBrave® (especially those that involve Bluetooth) so when we heard all about Lupo from the guys at Connect-In Ltd, a tech company right here in Glasgow, we couldn’t wait to take it for a spin.
So, what is Lupo?
Lupo is a Bluetooth Smart sensor that helps to find, secure & control other Bluetooth devices including smartphones and computers. It has been supported by start up awards from Strathclyde University in the UK, Massachusetts Institute of Technology USA, Technology Strategy Board, Gabriel Syndicate and EU Realise-It initiative, to name a few, and raised a grand total of £27,488 on Kickstarter, exceeding their initial target of £20,000 – well done guys!
What does it do?
This is the bit where we get really excited! Lupo has loads of great features, when you connect it to the app (available on iOS and Android, in case you’re wondering) just attach your Lupo to a set of keys, a bag, or even your dog’s collar, and if you leave it behind, or someone takes it, Lupo will find it for you. On top of that, Lupo can also be used to change slides in presentations or as a wireless connector to take group selfies – say sayonara to the selfie stick!
What’s our verdict?
The app explains everything you need to do to connect Lupo to your phone or device, so don’t panic, it’s really easy to set up. We love that it has lots of different features, you never really see that on the one gadget, and with an open API, there are loads of possibilities to programme it to your own projects (we’re already working on adding Bluetooth to our coffee machine). According to the guys at Lupo, the battery lasts a year, but as we’ve only had it for a few weeks, we’ll need to get back to you on that one. Overall, a great nifty gadget with bags of potential for more – thumbs up from Team MadeBrave®!
