It’s not just the weather outside that’s frightful…
It was a cold, frosty December morning. The MadeBrave studio sat in darkness, all but a few twinkling Christmas lights. The room is silent, but wait – did that Christmas tree just jingle? Yes, yes it did.
Every Christmas, we shoot an annual Christmas card, but this year, we decided to do something a bit different. So naturally, that meant coming into the studio at the crack of dawn, dressing Andrew up as a Christmas tree, jumping out at the team as they arrived in the morning and capturing the whole thing on camera (as you do).
For weeks, we had mysterious packages arriving at the studio with props for ‘project Manhattan’ (we still don’t know why it was called that). Inside, there were baubles, tinsel, lights and a full camouflage ghillie suit – like the Amazon Prime order of a Scooby-Doo villain. Some string, walkie-talkies and real branches from a fir tree later, we waited for the team to arrive…
Turns out, team MadeBrave are a bunch of tough cookies (well, apart from a few). Maybe it was the light, the tinsel placement or the fact that our “Christmas tree” looked distinctly like a human in a tree costume, but a lot of them seemed to figure out that we were up to something. Either way, Mike’s reaction was worth it alone (and he brought donuts).
