We’ve been shouting about the Pedal for Scotland MadeBrave® Team Challenge since May (we just couldn’t contain ourselves) but with all the buzz on the run up to the event, today marks the official (yes, official) launch!
For those who didn’t catch our first announcement, the MadeBrave® Team Challenge, which takes place on September 6th, gives you and your work pals a chance to take on either the Classic Challenge 50 mile ride or the Big Belter 100 mile ride together as a team. It’s a great way to get fit, do a bit of team building and of course, raise money for the fantastic STV Appeal – triple whammy or what?! It starts in Glasgow and finishes with a party in Edinburgh’s iconic Murrayfield Stadium, with loads of added benefits like bag transfer (if you fancy getting your gladrags on), queue jump for catering (because hungry and cycling don’t mix), team photos, prizes and more.
This week, our heid-honcho Andrew and Keith Irving of Cycling Scotland were joined by members of the 279 Battery Royal to celebrate the launch of the MadeBrave® Team Challenge.’The Gunners’, have already signed up to the 50 mile Classic Challenge and 110 mile Big Belter rides with a team of 15 strong taking part. In an interview with the Daily Record, Lt Col Frank Ward, Commanding Officer 105 Regt RA said,
”It’s fantastic to see so many reservists participate in this demanding event. They will represent both the unit and the Army in this local event to show the opportunities available in the Reserves and to encourage their personal development throughout the training and during this arduous event.”
We’re really excited about getting our own team ready for the ride (you didn’t think we’d just sit by and watch, did you?) and seeing loads of new and familiar faces taking part. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting announcements and maybe even a competition or two – stay tuned!
