It’s official, traditional CV’s are a thing of the past.

If you’re applying for a creative job (or a job in a creative company), then it makes sense to add a little creative element to your CV (do you think we’ve said creative enough?) Anyway, what we’re trying to say is, no matter how great your credentials are, all it takes is a little effort to make your CV really stand out from the hundreds of other applicants – first impressions and all that.

Take our Design Director Steven, for example. He delivered his CV and portfolio in a cool bag with a wind up brain inside. Why, you ask? The entire theme of his application was “Creative Mind for Transplant” – clever huh?

More recently, we had a surprise visit to the MadeBrave® studio. On a regular Wednesday afternoon, the Mad Hatter arrived at our door (and no, we’re not talking about Andrew). He introduced himself and announced that he was delivering a CV on behalf of his wife, Mrs MacHatter and handed over both an envelope and a message in a bottle. The message read “There is no great genius, without a touch of madness” – you’re not wrong there!

The thing about ‘Mrs MacHatter’s’ extra effort is that every single person in the MadeBrave® studio stopped what they were doing to see what was going on (and it’s not just because she also gave us two boxes of Tunnock’s tea cakes). We’re guessing that was the desired effect. At the end of the day, when it comes to your CV, it’s all about balance. Here are a few of our top tips for creating a stellar CV.
