We have been nominated in the ‘DESIGN: Corporate/ Promotional Literature’ category at this year’s Scottish Creative Awards.

Delighted to say we’ve been nominated at The Drum Scottish Creative Awards for the 50th anniversary book we created for Vango in the ‘DESIGN: Corporate/Promotional Literature’ category.

Counting down to celebrating their 50th anniversary in the summer of 2016, Vango approached us to create a bespoke promotional piece that would be gifted to key retailers at a conference. Armed with a brief, an archive and a Mac (or two) we created a coffee table style book full of interviews, stories, photographs and more, laid out in a timeline journey format taking the reader from the early days to the present days of Vango as they read through from beginning to end.

Now, here’s the geeky design bit: Inspired by the original Force 10 (Vango’s iconic orange tent) the hardback cover can be folded to create the shape of a tent and the material used for the cover was chosen specifically to replicate the texture of the canvas (in Vango orange, of course). We wanted Force 10 users everywhere to see the book and be transported back to sunny days with sausages on the BBQ, flasks of tea and going places where there’s no phone signal.

Thanks to Vango for giving us the opportunity to create this project with them. The award ceremony takes place in early October and we’ll find out then if we made the creative cut.
