Content creators of the future

ScreenSpace is an innovative, new educational space, brought to life by MetFilm and the University of West London. Their degree in Content, Media & Film Production prepares students to become content creators of the future.

They faced the challenge of building brand awareness in a highly competitive and mature marketplace. MadeBrave were tasked with creating an integrated student recruitment campaign to grow leads for the 2018 cohort and help establish the brand.

Our approach

Our creative concept sought to show ‘content creators of the future’, so we looked to the not so distant future and created a series of roles that don’t yet exist. The creative gave the target audience a glimpse into what their future could look like by creating believable characters doing content-related jobs, using the varied skillset ScreenSpace students will graduate with.

Our integrated campaign focused on social to achieve maximum exposure among the target audience. The campaign hero was a video series made by MadeBrave and some wonderfully talented partners, including The Gate Films, Upfront Photography and Wandern Media.

Hero Campaign Videos

We created two videos, based on the same concept of content creator jobs of the future. The first centred on an Instagram Stories Reporter streaming a live gig, and the second featured a Live Augmented Reality Producer, preparing for a live studio show.

Crucial to the execution of the creative idea was capturing one seamless panning shot to show not only the front of camera action, but also behind the scenes. Technically this was a difficult single shot to take but, the team rose to the occasion!

We also wanted to capture what happened on both shoots to help create a bank of content that ScreenSpace could use throughout the year. As a new entity they were starting from scratch and wanted to use authentic content that was unique to them. This was done in two fantastic ‘Behind the Scenes’ videos and were used by ScreenSpace to demonstrate what it’s like working in the content creation and production industry.

David McCourt from Wandren Media captured the energy of the day in two fantastic ‘Behind the Scenes’ videos, shown below. These videos were used by ScreenSpace as content on what it’s like working in the content creation and production industry, with accompanying interviews from The Gate.
