How we baked 135 years of heritage and conviction into a brand film for the global stage
You don’t become one of the UK’s most iconic and distinctive brands by following the crowd.
For over a century, Tunnock’s have done things their own way. Same family. Same product. Same commitment to craft.
Already exporting to 45 countries, the brand had long exhibited within the British Pavilion at ISM — the world’s largest confectionery trade fair. This year, they made a decisive move into the International Hall, a bold statement of their global ambitions.

Strategy & Insights
The brief was clear from the outset – create a film to capture the attention of an international audience.
We weren’t going to raise eyebrows with flash and gimmicks. But of course with a brand like Tunnock’s, there was no need.
With a long history of family ownership, an enduring product, proprietary technology and serious manufacturing scale, the brand had a depth of story that most competitors could only envy.
Still, the challenge was focus —
How do you wrap over a century of heritage, people, and process into a single narrative that signals both legacy and forward momentum? A film that doesn’t just celebrate the past, but positions the brand for its next chapter.
The Idea
To put the brand front and centre, we built the film around bold, memorable numbers crafted from Tunnock’s own iconic foiled wrappers. Each number anchored the next chapter of the story: heritage, scale, people, technology, and global reach — all creating a clear, structured journey through 135 years of unshakable belief.
The Creative
Striking factory footage and production detail were blended with archival imagery, revealing both the craftsmanship and the industrial scale behind the brand. Past and present sat side by side — proof of a business that has grown in scale without ever losing its true identity.
And the result?
A brand film made for the global stage — not just the trade show floor.
We were all very proud to show the video to customers new and old. It really helped paint a picture of all things Tunnock’s and it tied in perfectly with our stand to help us tell our story. The end result was brilliant as was the project management from start to finish. Thanks again to all at MadeBrave.
